Sept 2021 Mini- Newsletter

2nd SEPTEMBER 2021 MINI-NEWSLETTER 

It has been a very good season for us so far:

11th August - retained the SML Knockout Trophy.

13th August – runners up to Letchworth GC in the Cairns Cup final.

Currently, we are top of the SML (Letchworth GC trail us by 3 points, but they do have 2 games in hand).

4th September – Ladies' and Men's teams travel to Royston to compete in the North Division semi-finals/finals. The winning teams will go on to County Finals day at Garston on 19th September.

Further dates for your diary:

  • Sat 11th & Sun 12th September – Club Finals Weekend. Donations towards the lunchtime buffet would be appreciated – please see sheet posted in the club house. Spectators welcome.

  • Sun 19th September – provisional date for Ladies v Gents, 2.30 pm start. Please add your name to the sheets in the club house if you wish to play. Note: this could depend on Club Finals being completed on time. Also, we could be participating at Garston.

  • Mon 20th September – local cub scout group visiting the green for an evening of fun at 6pm. Helpers needed – just turn up.

  • Sun 26th September – President v Captains marks the closing match of the season, before the green is “put to bed” on 2nd October. The match has been moved to a morning start, at 10.30, to accommodate a lunch time BBQ, which Trevor has kindly offered to do.

  • Sat 30th October – Presentation Evening, in-house at the club house – details to follow.

  • Sun 7th November – Annual General Meeting (moved from 31st October) 2.30 for 3.00pm start. Agenda to be circulated in due course and Committee nomination sheet will be posted in the club house.

  • Sun 12th December – Pre-Christmas gathering 2.00 – 4.00pm.

Finally, team sheets are up for players to enter Herts Bowls County Competitions (closes end Sept.) and L&D Competitions (closes end Jan.).
